The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulates and outlines the specific requirements for third-party employment-related background checks.  The FCRA provides the guidelines for screening firms a/k/a Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRAs) as well as the client end user and the applicant. The rights of the applicant are protected under the FCRA as it is designed to promote accuracy, fairness and protect the privacy of the individual’s information.

Clients must demonstrate that they have permissible purpose for ordering background checks for employment which includes volunteers, client engagements, contractors, transfers and promotions.  Business Intelligence follows strict policies and procedures to ensure that all parties comply with FCRA guidelines.
